hey all

Well made a trip out into the country side today and picked up a grille assembly for my 49.Mine has a couple damaged pieces and this one popped up for sale so between the two i'll have a good grill to put in.Anyways fella had two Pontiacs out there so thought i'd share the tags and see what he actually has.I believe one is an American spec Pontiac built in Canada.Has American sheetmetal but seems to have a flathead motor like our Canadian Pontiacs,it has a hydramatic in it for sure. Also dug the bumper extensions.Second one is definitely a candian Pontiac 50-51 maybe?

The model 20-69 appears to be a 1950 but I couldn't find a match for it in my reference book. The paint 426 = Minerva Blue. 6 cylinder

The model 25-69 is a 1949 Chieftain 6 cyl 4 dr sedan made in Oshawa

yep I figured the one was a year or so newer than mine,it has a different trunk piece than mine.Similar to the u.s ones I've seen where it would say Pontiac 8 on it.It also has the teardrop key molding.I am hoping the front doors would be the same as my 49 as they are super nice and I would like to pick them up as a spare set for mine. The other one is a bit of an oddball. It definitely has American chieftain style sheetmetal, bumps on the rear fenders, the rounded pan under the hood but made in Canada? I've heard of being able to order an American style chieftain through gm of Canada but I've never actually seen one in person. He had some really neat stuff out there,a nice 58 dodge royale 2 door with the special springtime trim package,a 58 sport fury like Christine,a bunch of old chevy pick ups 53-58 ish,a nice 56 international pickup, super solid and straight,a 56 ish international travelall, kinda like an early 2 door suburban,a bunch of old Volvo sport cars.

Ok heres what I picked up yesterday,a complete grille assembly and a couple of top bars.Got it all for 300.00 so think I did ok.I really only need the top and bottom pieces to make mine nice again as mine have some dings and corrosion.i have a brand new set of nos grille teeth. One thing I have noticed is my top bar is a 3piece set up where as the us ones seem to be a one piece with the two curved pieces.I have a brand new set of curved cornerbars as well so hopefully I can make them work.
