The BBG makes no sense for a 66 rear. Do you have a pic of the stamping?

The limited few I have seen with the "E" had an Eaton limited slip which that appears to have.

That's my best guess

I did some digging and found that it is a odd one. BBG was possibly a code for police applications, and possibly from a 67.
