1957 Fender Skirts/Sun Visor

Does anyone know if the shape of the wheel opening on a 57 Pontiac 4 door wagon is the same as the 57 Chevy wagon?if so will the Chevy skirts fit the Pontiac?

Will a Chevy sun visor fit the Pontiac as the roof looks the same to me from pictures?

Thanks

Paul, the 57 Pontiac wagon uses 56 Chevy skirts, i kid you not because the rear quarts are actually 56 Chev quarters. You can buy repro 56 fender skirts. The exterior sun visor is also 55 56 57 Chev but make sure it is for a sedan model. There were three different sun visors, sedan, hardtop and four door hardtop. They may look the same but they fit very different. These visors are very hard to find now and are very expensive. Stay away from the fiberglass repro's of these visors. You need a visor like the one on my 57 Pontiac sedan, check the photos. Good luck with the search. George

Thanks for the great info, with no part numbers to go by how does one distinguish between the three visors?
Is there a way to tell if I am told it fits a certain car?
Thanks

Paul, the difference is in the area of the corner drip rail. The four door hardtop visor has the largest cut out in that area, where the drip rail and side post meet. The hardtop and sedan visors look much alike but they are not. The windshield height between the two is one inch lower (on the hardtop) and because of this the cut out area near the drip rail and side post is different. In every other way the three sun visors look alike from the top and bottom. I made the mistakes many years ago and learned the hard and expensive way. Keep the photos of my visor because that is the one you need. Cheers. George

Paul, normally the 57 Pontiac rear wheel opening is kind of squared off in the upper corners but for some reason GM used 56 Chev quarters on all wagons but the top of the line Safari (Nomad) wagon. The 56 and 57 Chev both used half tear drop shaped skirts but the 56 skirt is higher than the 57 skirt in the opening. If you look at 57 Pontiac wagon taillights there is a reason why they do not have the same angle from the side as the rest of the line. The reason being is that those are 56 Chev quarters, not in whole but partially 56 Chev quarters. Paul, get 56 Chev fender skirts for your 57 Pontiac wagon and you are in business. Cheers. George
