Bought a '69 Catalina

I bought my third full-size 69 in the last year yesterday, a Catalina parts car to use on my 2+2 restoration.  I sure do hope those rear quarters interchange!  Otherwise I just spent $1200 on wheel opening moldings.

Would have been so much better if I could have found a non-rusty Canadian car, but are there any?  I've never seen one!  This Catalina came off the road in '96 but most Canadian cars were well rusted long before 1996.

Anyway, all I can use off of it are the rear quarters, wheel opening moldings, and speedometer face.  If anyone needs doors or tinted AC glass or anything (and if you're anywhere near Seattle/BC) I'll be giving it away in a couple of weeks before I call the "operation recycle" people.

And just a reminder I'm still looking for good front fenders, as mine are rotted and these US ones will not fit!

Did the Catalina have factory air conditioning and is the engine and trans still in the car. I would be interested in all the pullies and air conditioning mounting brackets.

Thanks Al

It does have AC. 400 and TH400 I think, though what's left I have no idea other than these pics!

Interesting.  Looks pretty solid for sitting all that time, but then again it is the west coast.  I hope the quarters work for you.

This photo illustrates quite clearly what happens to the nose pieces over time (I was asking about it in another thread).

I'm going to start blowing it apart tomorrow I think. All I want from it are:

Rear quarters
Wheel moldings (yay - found a set finally!)
Speedo face
Two-tone divider moldings
T3 lowbeams

I reserve the right to keep anything though

I might try to cut patch panels from the front fenders even though they're not a match, they might be closer than nothing.

If anyone needs parts off a US Catalina, speak now or it's too late!

Cheers,
Dave
