my favorite is muriatic acid. Straight, no dilution. Must do outside tho, has fumes. Strips rust off parts in about 10 mins or less. good for all metals. works wonders on exhaust manifolds, factory fresh bare cast!

I'm curious , I'm trying to clean up some bolts/ nuts and washers . Once you get rid of the rust , what do you use to neutralize the finish to prevent rusting again.
After Muriatic, i rinse in a baking soda bath. But yes, flash rust is still going to happen. it wire wheels off super easy tho. You could also paint right away, or get everything zinc plated. another option is just to spray the bucket of bolts with wd40, as long as you clean them good when you are ready to paint in the future.

I water pressure blast clean, then, quickly dry with cloth, hit with heat gun so water does not stay on. Go ocer with plastic scourer or wire wheel then paint.
