Cop car with no brakes? Other than the block of wood? I like that gas cap guard, must be pretty rare piece on a cool old car.

It was at the Ch'town Chrysler dealer ... maybe getting a spring fixing. They might still have NOS parts in their inventory?

The dealer had a post on Facebook that the car was going to be there. Canadian built Regent. I've seen it at the police station. I should have stopped in as I was in town today. I think there was going to be a couple of monster trucks there as well.

Do they usually store this car indoors at the cop shop? The chrome siren and roof lights have a lot of recent (new, orange-coloured rust) rust issues.
The (original?) rear license plate is very crudely hand-painted.
The interior is pretty good, but there is no police radio present (if it ever had one?).
It wouldn't take too much to correct all the minor things (looks like a decades old resto) and make it a nice show vehicle. My critique.

Yep, they've been using that Ram ornament for a long time.
... but this one definitely does not have an original ram's head. Good from afar, but far from good. It is just plunked on the hood, and doesn't mesh with the hood center trim or hood contours ... maybe off another year Dodge?

I know about those brakes. My dad had a 1937 Dodge Brothers pickup. Many a time that emergency brake was left on.
By the way he bought that truck brand new at Gray's Motors, Parkhill, On. Paid $700.00 , Traded it in 1950 and got $500.00 on a new pickup. What a deal!

No, it's a Mopar thing. Up to about 1962 they had a parking brake that was a drum behind the transmission. If not adjusted just right they didn't work worth a damn.

Couldn't tell from the photos whether it was a correct one or not. I'll take your word for it though, the mismatch with the trim would be a sure giveaway.
Thanks for posting! A neat item for sure, but I too would question whether it would be much good in a pursuit with its flathead six!

I can't get over how bad the climate here is for cars. Our "honeywagon" (the vehicle I use to deliver honey) is an 06 HHR that came to PEI from Calgary two years ago. Here's what it looks like now- the majority of this is the result of this winter's driving:
The bottoms of the doors are sandblasted to bear metal. The plastic rocker trim actually has a hole sandblasted through it! Quite a bit of rust has appeared above the wheel opening. It's a case of sand (seemed more like gravel this year) and salt with a nice bit of salt air to add to the mix.

Wow! Is all that sandblasting from one winter?
I'd have to say it's way worse than NS as we tend to use mostly salt, except in areas where there are a wells near the road. I never see blasting/chipping to this degree around here.
Yes, just this winter. Mind you I put a ton of KM's on that HHR. My new to me Accord has the same thing going on in the rear wheel lips. Only a minute portion made it to the outside panel. I bought a pint of POR-15 to treat it and then will top coat it with gloss black (the colour of the car). Unreal since I bet we only put about 800km on the Honda. The roads near my place had a lot of gravel on them this past winter.
