Working on a 63....it has a 350 short block....with original 283 top end...
We're trying to restore correct 63 pulley geometry.
There is spacer/shim on the end of the water pump...under pulley....which appears to be putting the w/p pulley just slightly out of alignment...with the crank pulley....
Should that spacer/shim be there?.....I know they were used in other years.....but don't recall seeing one on this vintage before...
I am parting out a 63 with a 350 that has all the 1963 short water pump pully set up. I just changed the water pump and there was no shim behind the pully. All the pullies line up power steering, water pump and alternator.
Switch the valve covers to the old ones and put a 63 PCV conversion on my it, if you have the oil fill tube with the vent.

The line type with the nipple should be fed into the air cleaner base, at least that's the way it was on my 63 Vette and I think 64. PCV's evolved quickly from 63 on, what Hawkeye shows may be a later year evolution or a Holley setup, which would also be later if stock. If you check your assembly manual or shop manual, you may find a pic of the setup of a stock PCV. See if a stock 64 air cleaner has a nipple on the base. My 63 283 very original convertible had the vented cap.
I have not worked on anything newer than a 63 when it comes to the PCV. One of my 62's with a 283 had a PCV setup, the same as the 63 with vented cap, it was an option in 62.
