61 Pontiac Build Date?

Does anybody know how I might figure out the build date for my 61 Pontiac Parisienne?  Does the VIN tag give any clues?

I selling it to a guy in the US and he's getting the paperwork ready to bring it across the border.

One of the questions on the form is the build date.

On the cowl tag, there should be a 3 digit date code such as 1-3-4. The first digit is the shift, second digit is the month, third digit is the day.

Unfortunately no info for build date here.

7737 = 7 Canadian, 7 Pontiac, 37  2 door hardtop

709926 = body sequence

paint LC  = Red with and white top (two tone)

trim 922 (cannot find code)

6A (cannot find code)

About the border needing build date. I recently sold the 63 BelAir to a fellow in Michigan that

races at the Pure Stock Drags and all he did was trailer it across the border - no problem.

However the build date may have been evident on the 63.

Another possibility is to call Vintage Vehicle services. I believe they have an express service (for a fee) that should be able to get you the info right away.

Thanks, I'm guessing it's not a big deal but I thought I'd check.

I missed this post. I might give that a try.

Thanks again.

Not sure about this.....but 6A...could be construed as 1st week of June.....61

That's how it works on US built vehicles...06A...is how it would read.....

That's all you need....for your purpose.....JMO...

The build date was usually in the upper left corner and 3 digits, not all plants stamped a build date.

The 6A shown here has something to do with an option  (B.S.O.?)

In Chevy Cowl Tags 6A is listed from 1960 onward but the Cowl Tag book does not state what the 6A is cry.
