I'd say his price is pretty high, with the market appeal low. It's not like Stampede Pontiac is a well known dealership, and while they did make a pretty cool car, I suspect it's rarity won't translate into big bucks. However, you never know.
I remember in the late 70's or early 80's a Chevy dealership in Calgary took some plain Camaro's, and gave them a Z27 paint job on the doors. They marketed them as Z27's, I suspect they're all gone, and were never a collector item.
I think the claim of 1 of 26 built is a white lie. When you get the GM Vintage Vehicle documents its not going to document out as 1 of 26 , it is going to be one of however many Tempests or whatever model it is from the factory. It will be relatively low due to the body style, 2 dr. sedan but its a sticker car made up at the dealer that makes it 1 of 26 made up cars. As for the drivetrain I can vouch that this is no slouch, we had a 70 Tempest 2 dr. sedan 350 blue block PG car that was a terror.
63 Parisienne sport coupe (The Big GTO), black, maroon interior, 409 4 speed; former owner of a 59 El Camino, 63 Corvette SWC, 62 Chev Bel Air SC. 1963- Pontiac top selling car in Canada
Mahone Bay, NS Still not old enough to need an automatic
You know in 1970 a 455 was not offered in the Tempest and LeMans cars, 250, 350, 400 were the choices so the hotest non GTO you could get would have been the Tempest GT-37 with the 400 and 4 speed. Just look at the difference a properly executed well thought out package from factory designers and engineers looks like.

In Winnipeg Southood Chev did their plain Camaros up as S28's. Same thing, needless to say, not a collector's item at all today...

This was posted on Facebucket...a few weeks ago......
Cool car....and very interesting/unique....from a Canadian Pontiac perspective......but I think Gray is just fishing.....( not a distress sale)
If it was a Judge......it would get snapped up in a hurry.....but not likely anybody in America will step up to the plate......
Those guys have...and will spend the $$$....but a 350 Pontiac....is NOT a desirable motor...in Pontiac land......They just get yanked......and scrapped....like a 283 in a Camero...
I think a real world price on this car.....is about 35k......but...who knows...
While we are on the subject of Stampede Motors.......Anybody have a decent dealer badge from them....for sale or trade?
