1958 Canadian Dodge Regent- ( plus a few more mopars from the Labour day mopar car show)

I talked to the owner of the 58 Dodge - the car was purchased  a few years out of Victoria - it has never been restored - it is a 6 cylinder AT with manual steering and brakes - he is getting tired of the manual steering and is thinking of selling it - the price he mentioned would be $6500

Great Mopar pics!!

Can anyone read the air cleaner decal on the 1960 Fury??

It's obviously an A series Engine ( EG:318 ) but has 325 and some words I can't make out.

Dodge had a 325 and 326 Engine 1957-58 but the 325 wasn't an A series.

Thanks
Randy

I'm stumped. Fury was available with the 318, 361 and 383. No idea what the 325 means. None of these engines had 325hp (the 383 had 330). I don't think it would be torque.

Looks like a home made label to look like a late sixties, early seventies pie tin.  318 polysphere bored 0.040 over will give 325 cu. in.

That's my best guess!

I think it says 325 "FOUR BARREL" after blowing up the image.

The Dodge 325 Poly is a totally different Poly than the Plymouth A series version.

Dodge Polys were based on Dodge "Hemi" Engines.

Dodge did use a 326 version of the Plymouth A series Poly after discontinuing the Dodge Poly.

It was a 318 with a .050" overbore, never used by Plymouth, only Dodge.

Creative decal but it could have said 326 if he wanted it to "look authentic".

Thanks
Randy

325 was earlier Dodge engine.  Dodge started using A-series in 1959 and 326 was a (1959-only) Dodge engine, and not available for 1960 model year, or in Plymouth.

Later LA series architecture is based on A architecture - main difference is heads and valve layout, and better casting technology.  Both 318s used the same bore and stroke, thus 0.040 overbore would have the same displacement in both series.

I still think the owner was trying to capture the look of the later pie tin (note: Plymouth usually said "Four Barrel" or "Commando", Dodge usually used "Magnum")

Maybe it has a 1959 Dodge engine in it?  Probably the only person who really knows is the owner...  I'm all out of guesses! smile

I always thought Canadian Dodges were interesting cars, also known as "Plodges". A Dodge coming at you and a Plymouth as it is leaving you.
