I stumbled across this while looking for something else. A little far for our Canadian members ("all the good cars are down south!") but thought I'd post it for interests sake (RHD), and maybe for the benefit of our Aussie members... looks like a good example - untouched and original.
Car location:singleton, New South Wales, Australia
Seller's notes: 60,000 miles never been touched Sale type: Fixed price listing
Hope to sell this time if you are not going to pay don"t bid . The car is located in singleton n. s. w 2330 One hour from Newcastle airport . Yes you could drive it home runs like anew one
Perhaps that's the equivalent to getting antique car plates. In Ontario if you have those plates you are really only allowed to drive the car in "parades" and for test drives.
It seems you can get club rego plates for cheaper registration in Australia but are limited to club events and limited miles. Nothing like that here yet ( NZ ). Registration for my 60 Pontiac is NZ$51.00 per year and for the two commercial wedding cars NZ$101.00 each. They are all subjected to a six monthly warrant of fitness check costing around $60.00 each. We can use them as every day cars if we choose.
Definitely an export car. GM must have built too many 65 chev rhd dashes. I watch the Australian want ads sometimes and have seen the same dash used up to 1970 in Chevrolets Pontiacs and in an Olds also.

RHD Canadian Pontiacs used a 61 dash...up till the end of the 64 model year..........
I think they just kept running.....what was already tooled up....and in production....for as long as they could....to keep costs down....
