Wanted. Decals for 1965 Acadian Canso SD

Hi all,

I'm looking for any decals for my 1965 Canso SD. 283. I am not even sure what all was there.

Valve cover decals

air cleaner decal

any other original/factory engine compartment decals or information or pictures would be great

trunk - spare tire decal

Please let me know what all I need and what you might have. pictures would be helpful as I may consider getting them reproduced

Mike

Howdy This picture is from a 66 Beaumont 283 but I think the decals would be the same.  I'm pretty sure there is a source for these as I have managed to get some Canadian Pontiac specific decals but I cant quite remember where.  I'm sure some one here has that info.

I know the valve cover decal says "Acadian 283".

I'm not sure if I have a picture of the inside of the trunk lid on the 65 SD I had but it was certainly the original decal there.

I think there's only a total of 3 decals, the air cleaner, valve covers and trunk lid.

Hey Mike try giving Dale's Muscle Car Parts a call.I had spoken to them a while ago about buying a decal package that would contain every decal needed on a Canadian built car. They were pretty reasonable as a package of say 8-10 decals I think were quoted at around $55.Mine are ordered but I havnt seen them yet...seemed pretty knowledgable on what decals were needed.Might be a good call to make.

I thought I posted last evening but apparently not.
You can try Osborne Reproduction in the southern states. They should have the air breather and valve covers.
Their web site used to be a real disaster. Best to google the number and phone.

Alright! I was hoping to precipitate a few answers even if mine was wrong!

Not a problem Grande guy. You just never know! I think I'm wishful thinking on this search.

Mike I was told by Dale's that they source the decals through Jim Osborne Reproduction.

Please don't put an air cleaner decal on. I see them all the time but they weren't used before '67 except on big blocks & 409s. Also no Caution Fan stickers either (they are Ford items).

You want the black & gold valve cover decals, the Oshawa oil change decal, and the jack storage decal.

I believe some one in the Ottawa area reproduces the Canadian decals. That info is some where on this site ?

You're probably thinking of Bruce Levy. Yes, this is another reputable source.

You would choose no decal on the air cleaner vs. a decal that looks correct? We'll disagree on that one, if there is a decal available that copies the original painted on (screened) instructions, I'd rather have the decal than all black. That's just me.

Mike I just remembered, there's a coolant decal on the rad cradle too. My 65 still had the original on it when I sold it.

Interesting that when I googled Bruce Levy antique automotive decals the first entry was a link to a CP thread. From that thread here is the contact info

Touché. I believe you are  right about the silk screening. Not sure what it should be.

I even put a decal on the side of my '67 air cleaner to that effect since there was a trace of a silk-screened one originally. It was something about washing & re-oiling the breather cap and using an AC212CW air filter element on mine (it would have been different even on a '66).

Best shot I have of it. I am betting it's pretty standard on Canadian 65 GM products.
