Changed the coil and still have a puking problem when I floor it and changing from 1st to drive. I can rev the engine up to 5000 with no puking. Keep it in first high rev's no problem. Drive the car like normal...no problems.
If it was fuel pump it would do it when I rev it. Only in motion so I'm thinking transmission or would it be my torque converter?
Who knows a good transmission guy on the west coast?

Like it's not getting enough fuel. But in park bringing it up to 4000RPM-5000RPM IS NOT A PROBLEM.
Just when I'm driving it and stomp on it.........it starts to go then blah blah blah

Sounds like it's leaning out under load. Carb, camshaft, low fuel pressure are some of the possible reasons.

First thing I'd do is check the fuel pressure at the carb. If it's below spec that's likely your problem.

I think Paul (65sssd) is 100% correct.....Sounds like carb to me too. I tried to run a quadrajet on a 427 after a cam swap and I couldn't get past 2nd gear without running out of gas. Installed a holley with bigger float bowls and the problem was gone. Even with an electric fuel pump, the quadrajet was just not enough fuel for a thirsty BB.

You guys got me thinking.......The carb is for a 400 car. Not a 455. Being that I'm pushing more power on a fresh engine build. That carb might not be big enough
I'll have to see what I can use on my collector plates to be period correct

Float level bad and the bowl is not full enough?
Years ago, I drag raced a 327 Acadian that would take off like a scared rabbit and then fall on it's face. A simple float level adjustment solved that problem.

Now that sounds like it just might be the problem ... I am the builder of the carb and I tell you I went over her like a fine tooth comb but... Hey I have only built a couple carbs Kim... Sooooo Its highly possible.
I drove her and in first gear you can push her right up to 4000 rpm with no power loss, tried it in second and its the same... but if your rolling and punch it the passing gear kicks in and it just bogs down... thats why I was thinking it could be the tranny slipping somehow... its also down around a pint of tranny fluid...

If the trans were slipping your engine would rev, not bog.

Send me the name of that guy in Edmonton that does carbs. Hopefully he's got a 455 carb. Or has anyone dealt with Evilbay on carbs?

And its in Ontario.... and you will have the proper carb for that engine... The one you have there just needs an adjustment or a "real... carb person" to go over it and it would be good also but it will sell for good money as is...

Kim I call the rochester a boggerjet I had the same problem with mine years ago before I tossed her . I am Holley lover and run a old school 700 double pumper on my Stroker. If you like I could take her off and we can bolt it on your car and see how she runs, I have re-built it myself a couple of times over the years and got it tuned so nice that as hard as you can hit the pedal it respond's instantly , never has it bogged once. Something to think about. I think you would have to run a spacer as you will have a spread bore intake for the q-jet. Let me know buddy Kevin

I got a Ram Air 3 carb coming from Maryland. He's off the PY forums. I should have it next week.
Kevin I have a spacer and and a old holly maybe. Never could get that Holley to run.
Let me know if you have time maybe we can change it and take it for a burn

Good one but I have been using my Numbers matching quadrajet since the resto on my Judge and No bogs.. Each to their own I guess.. I am not a lover of the holley on a GM Product .. Didnt most of them come stock on a F--d???? :>)
