For likely 30 years, I thought 67 Acadian and 67 2+2 shared the same front fender louver.
Apparently they are only similar, not the same.
Why would GM make something so close, yet different?

I have read several times that they are slightly different in size. I have never seen the two pieces together at the same time. You don't see very many Canso Sport Deluxes that still have the louvers. I don't know of anyone that does reproductions. The louvers and correct consoles and rear tailight lenses are probably the hardest items to find for these cars.

I know this is an old post , but Im going to break down and give away my little secret ive known about for sometime. OPG carries the exact louvers for our Acadians . they came on the 66 GTO and or Lemans.

Also I have been told by people who have checked, that 1965 US 2+2 louvers and Beaumont louvers are the same.

Really?
I have to check. I may be able to confirm or disprove that with the parts books I have.
It would only make sense to use them to save money though.

It might make sense, but in 1967 the US 2+2 louvers are different from CDN louvers. Both are different from Beaumont louvers. Also the 2+2 emblems are different. US emblems are available reproduction but are the wrong size for CDN cars.
Apparently they are only similar, not the same.
