Can anyone tell me what colour the trunk floor and quarters should be on my 1969 Beaumont ? I have heard everything from roxitone, to body colour and also just semi gloss black. If they all came from the Oshawa plant shouldn't thell all be the same in that year ?

Where they splatter by then? 67 was still body color I knew. I wasn't sure when or if it changed on Canadian cars.

Hi Kevin Your 69 should be gray spatter paint. Here's a picture of the trunk in my car that has never been touched. Build date is 10D.
Is it the same as Chevelle, I was told there are two different colours ?
I took my door panels in to the upholstry shop yesterday to get them changed over ( he said about 2 bills ) I also asked SMS about seat stripes, he said about $175 for front and rear seats. Missed you at Waterdown on Saturday, my broher in law said he saw you,

It may seem silly, but I always thought it was neat that the Canadian cars had the body color on the firewall and in the trunk. Sort of losing part of our identity if they changed to the same as the US cars.
Not to take away from your cars, Brad. Those SD cars are SO unique in other ways anyway. Just kind of fun that we can be "different". I like different...

You are right! when you restore my 66 you can paint ALL of it white, and it will be original.. you have to paint the fenders anyway,as it has too many holes for emblems..

I was cleaning the gunge off of my rear inner fenders on my 68 SD last night and noticed they were painted the original colour of the car after I had scraped all the tar and other garbage that was on them. I found this car for my bother in 1976 and he had painted the trunk black however under the black was the original Vedoro green. At the very least, into 1968 GM was painting them this way. I know this car hasn't been played with since we have owned it since it was eight years old.

It would seem the change is during or after 68 then?

Hi Guys,
Canadian cars had the firewall and trunks the same colour as the exterior of the car from 1962 to 1968. Things changed in '69 when they started using splatter paint the trunks and firewalls went black.
As Carl noted we lost some of our Canadian identity to confirm to the American standard. Another small part of the AutoPact agreement.
