Good morning everyone, I received my rocker panel molding from NOS Reproductions last week, they are actually for a 70 to 72 Chevelle but they fit almost perfectly and they look awesome. I am not sure about 1969 but a few of the 1968 Beaumonts did have chrome rocker moldings. Mounting them was defintley a 2 man job, we taped them in place, we then mounted 2 of the clips about 6 feet apart on my workbech to see how far the molding came down on the clip. 3/16 was the final measurement. Next we used a chalkline and snapped a line where the top of the molding would sit. we then measured 3/16 down from that line and snapped a second line this is the top of the clip. next was to drill holes and mount the 2 outer clips and then hang to molding for fitting. After that we put the other 4 clips on, there are 6 for each side and 12 screws, 6 screws for the clips and 6 for the lower lip of the molding. I put a dab of silicone over each hole I drilled before putting the clips back on. I put a small piece of tape above each clip si I could tell where the clips were after mounting the molding. When doing the bottom screws on the molding I made sure the molding was tight and made sure I drill the screw hole so it would pull the molding tight against the rocker panel. I used silicone again to seal the screw holes and i worked from front to back. It took the better part of 2 hours to mount the first moulding, the second will go a lot faster im sure. They look awesome and really accent the Cragar SS Rims. Mylo aka Mike K.
