Anyone here ever swapped a 68 beaumont dash for a chevelle dash... Or vice versa??
I'm looking at a project.. I have a complete 68 donor dash to put into a stripped out chevelle..
Wondering what hat would be involVed..how much metal fab? Or if it's a swap over..
ive only been looking at pics.. Haven't had a chance to crawl over it yet..
just checking if someone has crossed this bridge already.
thanks..

For 64-67 its easier to replace entire firewall-dash-windshield surround as one complete unit, using factory floor seam and splicing A pillar. Restore entire firewall and dash before installation and welding A pillar splice and reseaming floor.

It's not necessary to eviserate the car to change the dash. I have had mine in the 73 A body in and out several times. All it takes is patience and a FSM.

depends whether the dash is welded in or it is a bolt out deal.I think the Beaumont dash( metal) is welded in place vs. a chevelle metal dash is bolted in.I think the process would not be that difficult to do but you would obviously need to do the measuring etc, before you started doing any serious cutting. It is certainly doable

I haven't crossed this bridge but years ago I installed a 1976 Trans Am dash in a 1971 Z28 and it was a breeze!!
Curious how this works out.
Thanks

I would be concerned about monkeying with the v.i.n. tag since for 68 it was moved to the dash top from the A-pillar.

This whole topic really hits a cord because back in 1988 my younger brother Mike had a 1968 Beaumont that he converted to a Chevelle SS. At the time i tried to talk him out of it and leave the Beaumont as it was. It was a two door hardtop that was all there and the Chevelle SS conversion was complete except for the dash. The two of us use to get some laughs over the comments we use to over hear. No one ever said this stuff to my brothers face but some of the comments were not very nice about seeing that Beaumont dash in the now 68 Chevelle SS. Still most of it was funny to over hear. Cheers. Likely more trouble than it's worth...be easier to find a 68 chevelle dash and reinstall it..
