Making a 1964 Chevelle hood into a (proper) 1964 Beaumont hood

I know, thanks to guys here, that my 1964 Beaumont has the wrong Chevelle hood (thanks to some presumably-well-intentoned-yet-ignorant-or-maybe-just-cheap 'restorer' in my car's past), and I see a few bubbles in the paint on the hood, not obnoxious, but that someday will lead me to having it repainted, so, I am wondering, if at that time, I remove the center chrome piece, and fill in those holes, would that correct the problem, and make my car more correcct?
Thanks,
Dave

Sorry I don't know enough about 1964 - Beaumont/Chevelle hood differences.
But I can tell you, in 1966 - Beaumont center die cast spear is longer in length, than the Chevelle chromed front piece.
- I don't know if the trim holes line up, between the 2 makes / or if the longer hood trim, needs an added hole to mount
