I'm getting close to getting the remainder of my upholstery done. I'm pre-making the kick panel boards. Can anyone shoot me a pic of theirs? I can't figure out for certain how it's supposed to fit around the vent grille. Thanks in advance guys.

Brad, pickup a set of new reproduction 1957 Chevrolet card board kick panels and then cut the holes required for the vents. That's what i did on my 57 Pontiac and it worked out great. It fits in there like it should. Fit the new kick panels in place before you cut the holes and then use the area as a template for the vent hole as well as the screw holes, if you know what i mean. Then you are ready to mount the metal vents. It is important to make sure the new kick panels are in there proper place before tackling the vent holes. Why make your own when you can have perfect proper new ones. Good luck and cheers. George

I see your point, but given the value of the Canadian peso, plus by the time UPS is done sticking it in my keester, I could pay the upholsterer to make them, probably twice. The vent grille screws down over top of the panel? Thanks George

Yes, the metal vent grills go over the card board kick panel and are held in by two philips screws.

Brad, try getting the repro kick panels locally from Canadian suppliers. If you have to go U.S. make sure they are shipped U.S. Postal service (Ground) and not crooks like UPS. They have the same initials but are planets apart.

Just ran into this (UPS). Called the supplier direct and they said they'd ship parts USPS. Worth a call if can't find on this side of the border.

Yep. I always do that. 80% of the time they'll want your business.

Good thinking. Some things have to come from the states, so I'll file that away. Thanks

Everyone at ANTIQUE CHEVROLET PARTS in Dundas, Ontario are great to deal with, especially the owner Scott. At $17.00 you can not go wrong and it must be more expensive to have someone make them up. Cheers. George

Well, I received my panels from Antique Chev, they sent me ones for a '56 Chev, but at least they're kick panels, luckily, since the person I spoke to didn't sound as if she'd know a kick panel if it fell on here. Pretty sure the driver's side will work as-is, and I can use the passenger as a pattern.

I am sorry to hear that. You should have spoken to Scott, not his wife. Call Scott and explain the situation, he should set things straight. After all this is not your fault, it is the ladies fault there. This should not cost you any more head aches or money. If it does............... i am very disappointed in Antique Chevrolet Parts. Good luck.
