Spring washer is contacting steering wheel when everything is assemble. Something is out of sorts with this washer.

On my cars, not a 64, that washer in not flat, try turning it over from whatever way you have it now. There was also a spring loaded button which goes in a hole under the washer.

Perhaps the contact is not returning properly?
The item on the most left or top right are the only moving parts. Perhaps they are warn and the spacing is decreased. or the spring washer the should pop like a bottle cap or oil can? I would see about some replacement parts... Most likely in my opinion the spring washer is warn lost shape.
How did it go with the horn... I am curious in case i ever have this problem?

I'm curious as well...have a little work to do at some point,
From what I gather, all the contact parts are the same Big car 58-66?

Mark, did you see the steering wheel "bigdreams" had for sale here? Is that the one you need?

I ordered a new horn kit, i hope that will help.
but after a fresh pot of coffee, i decided to use some logic. There is a crack in my wheel that is just large enough to allow lateral movement and the center of the ring grounds out on the steering wheel bolt. I wrapped electrical tape on the nut and tried it again. Success. I was hoping to avoid installing my new wheel until the interior gets finished.
