Can you install an adjustable modulator?

Hello ,
It has a governor on the side of the transmission it has spring in it and if you change the springs
The shift points will change . Just need to know the springs to use .
Apparently the springs are colour coded.

A quick look on line found me this,
And from what I understand, the primary adjustment is in the weights. Lighter=Later shifts, with the springs fine tuning the points. I always thought my 400 was awfully early with the stock governor, but I just got used to it.
Not sure if these are the universal spring colours in general use.
Make sure that you have a good vacuum signal to the modulator valve. A split in the rubber line at the modulator valve can cause the shift points to be too high.

Which is before, which is after? It looks like one is blue (or maybe purple), and one is green.

Now that I'm on a different device I think I see the same thing.

Sorry for the confusion
top pic is the modified inner weight
springs were never changed
Also this governor is for a turbo 350
But from what I understand the part is the same
only difference being the gear on the end and the fact that it
rotates in the opposite direction

Hi Greg
Thanks for the information
I will just have to play with the springs to get a good shift point.

I AM NO EXPERT
But what I learned while adjusting mine is a few things
1 whatever you adjust on the governor ( weights or springs or both)
it changes BOTH shifts
You can buy a kit
or you can adjust what you have
using 6d nails to replace the pins
the hard part will be finding springs without buying a kit
lots of info online
Greg
Thanks for all the good information,
Just have to get a few different spring sets and start a test and tune .
Thanks again .
Lots of information and great replys when I have a question
Thanks again
Thanks Mark for you information
stay safe
