I can't believe that car has not been snapped up yet. It doesn't get much rarer. I realize it needs work, but there is no danger of going to a car show with it and having your twin show up!

I'm surprised too. I went to look at the car and while it's a little rough in places, it is far from not being salvageable. The owner is a nice guy. They really want the car to go to a good home and not to someone who is going to flip it. Todd
That car sold months ago, went out to BC from what I understand. I first discovered that car about 10 years ago when Dwight sold me a rubber beak for my 69 Bonnie wagon. Tried to talk him into selling it for the next couple years but he always said he was keeping it for his sons. Ended up buying the 70 Laurentian a few years later but still would have liked to have added this to my collection, if I had any room to store it! Hopefully whoever bought it will give it the restoration it deserves and it ends up on here one day.

It's been for sale for awhile now, it's been discussed on the Yenko site. And is still for sale. I read that it's not in very good shape, but it's all there. If it's wasn't on the otherside of canada, I'd consider putting it in the garage, drinking beer, & day dreaming about what a screamer it would be. Ad reads $16,000.00 Darcy
My Laurentian could provide rust free everything for it.. It's tempting! Maybe I should start a donation website called www.helptoddbuythat4274speed2+2.com
Nope Hillar,Western buyer never sent money. It's still there for Ya !!
The way my stock porfolio and RRSP have been pummelled the last couple of days, I don't think I'll be buying any new toys for a while. This car definitely deserves to be saved though. Maybe I'll have to start buying lottery tickets again....

If someone gave him, 16,000.00 for it ,and spent, what? 20-30 000.00 plus unlimited hours of owners labor... What is it worth, when done? 20-25? just wondering what others thought..Carl 2
I agree with 427Carl for the value. The way the market is today anyways. 30,332 original miles but poor storage and a siezed motor. By the time it is running and moving, if the engine is not too bad you're at 20K. Then the body and interior. Just my thoughts.
As a labour of love for someone who loves the 69's this would be an awesome addition to a collection. I have pondered the idea of buying the car, but then reality sets in. A restoration would be approximately 1,000 hours for someone who knows what they are doing. For me it would look something like this: Engine, transmission, rear-end rebuild $6k Interior $2k Bodywork and paint $12k Chassis, brakes, suspension $2k Chrome, tires etc $4k Time after the above is farmed out 500 hours
Then from my experience I would double the money and triple the time because for me I end up doing everything at least twice.
From watching Barrett Jackson (some would say stupid money) I saw a 66 Caprice and a 68 Impala SS with 427 4 speeds sell for $50ish.
I think the money side of the equation only works if you really know what you're doing, otherwise it has to be for the love of the hobby.

Remember, "The Government" only has money confiscated from us.
Good answers! I figure that the current owner, will receive, all there is to make, on that car.. I have restored several cars, and always end up losing several thousand dollars.. Although we hate to lose any money, we(I) never keep track, of what it cost us to keep trading our family cars, trucks and mini vans.. I understand that the actual enjoyment of the restoration, at least at my house, is in the fellowship of the people, I hang out with, and my enjoyment, of restoring the car, by myself.. I hesitate to spend any more money, on my present car, as I know it wont increase its value.. I hope someone does, snap up the 69 Pontiac and restores it.. When I bought my car for 9500.00 the fellow, had 2 door 66 Chev that he wanted 18,000 for w/o driveline.. This is why i mostly questioned the price of the 69.. Just rambling... Carl
Many of us have gone through the process of working on cars, selling or trading them and then saying we only lost a few hundred or a few thousand. In those numbers we value our time at ZERO $$$. I get a kick out of "some guys" comments on other forums where they complain about the price of cars being too high at Barret Jackson. In my opinion anything that could be considered a number 2 condition would have to be worth $50k+ if time has a value. That's why I agree with the statement that it is cheaper to buy one that is already done.
My comments to my wife when forced to admit the price of something revolve around "all hobbies cost money" or "it's just like shoes".
For me it is easier to spend $100.00 100 times rather than $10,000. once.

My plan for that car would be,go through the engine, trans+diff probably need nothing.Do all the brakes, scrub the interior.New tires, change gears to 3:31.Buff the outside, leaving ALL the '70z Patina. Then drive it to all the shows.

Sounds like a plan Mark. Get to it then!

Rick; you are right! Its always been easier, for me to build my cars, payday to payday! We should never tally up the bills lol Carl

Thats a good idea! That will encourage me, to take my car out in public.. It certainly qualifies for Patina.. ya its not restored, its original GM patina Thanks
