Tire Upgrade

I decided to change the "attitude" of my Laurentian by changing the 14" tires and wire wheel caps to reproduction G70-15 Firestone WideOval redlines and 15X7 rally rims from Coker tire. The customer service at Coker was excellent and with the dollar the way it is, it actually was cheaper to buy them from Coker than from a local supplier! I also was fortunate enough to purchase a set of correct center caps for these wheels (I have 5 so even my spare will get one!)
Here's a teaser photo "sans center cap":

I still have some brake work to do this winter so there was no sense putting the cap on. I am amazed at how much this tire/rim combo changes the look of the car. I'm stoked!

I think it makes sense for driveability to go up a size or two on these classics, and it doesn't hurt that it looks original too.

I don't have many good shots of the car yet. Here's one taken a couple of weeks ago. The nose is missing in this shot. The one on the car was cracked badly and the replacement was at the body shop for paint:

RE: Tire Upgrade

Wow, nice.
I used to have a 69 Parisienne 2dr ht.
It was green, replaced the 350 with a rebuilt 283. (I had it from another car and couldn't afford to rebuild the 350 at the time).
I had the car for like 9 years, had a lot of plans for it, but was spending most of my money on my 66 at the time.
Ended up trading it for a Subaru, than traded that for an 80 Mustang Cobra, that needed a lot of work.
I think I had something like 5 cars at the time including a 77 Cadillac Devile. Now that was one smooth riding car.
Sold that to a guy, that used it as a cab, go figure.
Wish I would've kept my 69. It was pretty much rust free but had a lot of small dings along the panels from parking lots.
I'll see if I still have the photos of that car somewhere.
Gary

Had the 66 since about 83 and the 65 since 88.
Both still require a lot of work.

I'd like to see photos of the 69 Gary if you find them.
