Hi Brad

I plan to rebuild my shifter, comes out of the gate at times, tighten up my headliner. My wife registered my Year Of Manufacture License Plates for my 50th birthday, so I will be installing them. Going to Carlisle Swap meet in the spring to see if I can find some more goodies !!!

You can see that I have quite a bit of work ahead of me.

What do you mean the shifter is jumping out of the gate? Is the transmission coming out of gear?

Hi Brad

When I really give her from 2nd to 3rd sometimes the shifter comes out of the 2nd gate and tries to go into the third gate. The trans then locks in 2nd and I have to go underneath and move the second gear rod back into the neutral gate. Its a competition plus shifter

That sounds like it could be the transmission. Try setting up the shifter first but it sound like the transmission slide lock is getting worn or the teeth on the second gear.

Hi there, just a question about the power windows. Were they original to the car (documented on the build sheet) or added on?

Kevin, you must have your GM vintage vehicle services report-how many 69 SD's were made?

Beautiful car! Is it a real 69 SD or a clone?

Wow,what a drop from the 68 SD production numbers. Was there any special reason for this?

Hey Slinky
The paperwork that sold on ebay was for the Limelight green car that sold at Ancaster. I heard the car is near Milton but cannot confirm. I would like to talk to the new owner.

Production numbers were down for Chevelle as well.
1841 Big Block Beaumonts and Chevelles built for sale in Canada in 1968.
903 Big Block Beaumonts and Chevelles built for sale in Canada in 1969.
The Canadian built cars were limited to the 350HP 396.

I have a copy of the paperwork for the limelight green car and actually looked at it in Milton back in 2000 when I had my 68, the paperwork says 1 of 43 with L34 seeing SD was not a model but an option in 69 it would depend if and how many had L35 which would give you a total of production. I have followed SD's all my life and up until that point it was the only 69 I'd every seen. Seems to be lots of the 451 67's a few of the 68's quite a few 66's and a good selection of 64-65's but never any 69's
