Hey gang, I need to replace the seat covers on my 66 Grande Parisienne. I just got new carpet in Plum. It looks the same as colour as the material. So I guess the colour is Plum. But, I haven't found it anywhere yet. The american model, Grande Prix, is almost the same style (probably is exact). But haven't found anybody who has it in Plum. I got the interior from a donar car (the 283 from that same donar car was rebuilt and replaced the tired 350 in my 69 Parisienne, but that's another story). I added all the interior panels because I wanted the power windows. So this changed the colour of my interior from burgandy to plum. Tall buckets with headrests. Gary
When I did the white interior in my 427 4 speed car, I got a local guy to sew up new covers. Nobody can make them identical to original, with those deep pleats though. He did a pretty nice job at matching, but I always wished it could have been identical. A good stitcher will make it look nice enough that most people won't know, especially if you do front and back at the same time.
Fortunately, if I ever get another one like that and need to do the seats, we once again have a VERY talented, very affordable local guy who can help me.

I was able to get material for my 300 deluxe seats there. ( BTW, the seat material and pattern in my 69 Beaumont is the same!) It's not cheap, but then again when I bought it, the Cdn $ wasn't so strong. Like I said, it's the raw material and need s to be sewn up, so like Carl 1 said, you've got to wait to find someone you trust with your expensive goods. (That's why I still haven't got my bench seat back in the 300 yet.)
I was going to go that route with the Laurentian. SMS also has the material for my car. I priced it out as well as getting them sewn and installed. I think I'd have close to 3 grand invested if I went that route. I decided to deviate from stock and buy pre sewn Impala upholstery from NOS Reproductions in Komoka, Ont. Todd
The back seat covers and my carpet have already arrived. I got an email from NOS a few days ago-the fronts are being sewn and should arrive next week. There's a shop in Woodstock that is quite good. I may get him to install them OR I may attempt it myself. I re-foamed the front seat of my 60 Catalina and it turned out excellent. I have the hog ring pliers etc already. Todd
Gary, I paid $700Cdn for the material about 6 years ago, enough to do the front bench and rear seat . I still have to get the material stiched up, but because it's the same design on my 69 Beaumont, ( and those seats need to be redone as well) I can use disassemble those seats and use that material to cut out the patterns for the new material. Clear as mud, yes?
did anyone here try this staff? the Replacement Car Seat Cover... any idea about this. i just have a confusion with this. what is basically the function of Replacement Car Seat Cover. by the way regarding the seat cover for 66 grande i have seen one, but i don't know if plum is a color.
Yeah I have to replace my buckets in my 66 Grande too. I think mine would be the same pattern as macsleuths just so you can see what they look like in the 66 grande. Luckily mine are black but NOS doesn't offer a pattern that's correct (or at least I havent' found it)
I guess I'll have to take both (My passenger seat is still perfect so can use for a pattern to a custom guy to try and get the pattern recreated.
Anybody know of any alternative?

I know when I had my white seats done years ago, the pleated line the buttons are in is actually "molded" (not sure of the right term exactly) and when you stitch, it sure doesn't look the same as factory. Some people caught that on mine. Part of the reason they did though was because the interior is more of a pearl and the redo was whiter.

Thats pretty cool. I had no idea how sweet and complete that thing was when I bought it. I just wanted a 396 66 Grande. I would have bought it if that was the only option on the thing.
By then I'll be babbling part numbers every waking moment and that stupid ankle bracelet will make the alarm go as soon as we get near the door to escape!
I'll likely have to settle for watching out the activity room window while you do a brake stand...
Of course, if you'd sell me the car now, I'd have time to convert it to a 427 4 speed before they lock me away for good.

Yup, those are the seats! My drivers seat is about the same.
Thinking of pulling the interior out in a couple weeks and hope to get the seats redone over the winter while I replace the drivers foot pan.
