Had a few cold ones last night with our Local MPP at a local watering hole, nice guy came direct from the legisalture. Anyway he likes fishing so he started telling us about one of his fellow Northern MPP's who takes him in by plane or guides on the rivers flowing to Hudson Bay and just how many fish and how big these darn things are. Nothing like fresh Pickerel cooked and seasoned by our First Nations people on the river bank. He's heading up soon
Ended up convincing him to take us out off Scarborough Bluffs Salmon fishing, says they are huge, looking forward to that with his Northern MPP buddies. We are paying so it's not on the taxpayers ticket!!
Any one else looking forward to casting the rod? Maybe getting a Pike or two?

Seems like you may have spent too much time at the watering hole or this guy is very full of himself. Here in the rest of Canada, we call them MPs (Member of Parliment)
Yes you are right, Ontario - always ahead of the left bank, Member Provincial Parliament, MPP here in CentralCanada. When is the rest of the country going to catch up?
When I say a few I mean one draft and two Cokes, not a big drinker, especially when I have to drive home.

Peter Tabuns is a big fisherman? Never would have guessed that.....

Are you in Beaches-East York as well? I thought everything west of Coxwell was Toronto-Danforth. Although I'm not a NDP supporter, I do like Prue. I thought he did a good job as our last mayor.

No not in your riding. Michael is a friend of mine for like 20 years. I have politician friends I never voted for, LOL, Mastoras is another one!

I was up in Thompson MB last May 1st and we were feasting on Pickerels, there was still ice in the lakes, but they were delicious. We were guests on Reserve and I'll never forget the feast we had.
Nice laker Carl! i've tried for lakers a few times without success, i think i just need more time out on the water...looks like a fun one to bring in! must have been late in the year and caught shallow?
One of the more memorable ones for me was reeling in a walleye at lake of the prairies and having it sideswiped by a northern, about 36", got them both to about 3' of the boat when the northern let go....it was neat to see...

Yup, we were at my favorite pickerel hole, late in the fall. It's about 12 feet, maybe 15. We don't cheat (electronic stuff!!!) when we fish. We were there all of 10 minutes on a Saturday morning when this guy bit. I had never seen one live, so we didn't even know what it was!
I tossed him back, because I knew I didn't have a tag for it, whatever it was.
He went past the top of my 10 lb scale, so not sure of weight.
I think I may do more late fall trips after this!
