I work at First Canadian Place in downtown Toronto (the big white Bank Of Montreal tower). As far as I know, it is still the tallest building in the Commonwealth.
Today we had a fire alarm go off and we had to evacuate the building. Our offices are on the 72nd floor and you guessed it, we walked down all the way. The weird thing was the walk down wasn't so bad, but when we got to the bottom and had to walk on level ground again, my legs went to complete jelly, I almost couldn't stand up. Wonder what it is about steps that screws up your balance?

Wow, anybody pack it in?? I've never gone higher than the 68th floor there, of course for those who don't know that is the bank's Corporate Dinning Room!! Great free food and you can see Rochester!

Yeah, our CFO wimped out at the 32nd floor. Apparently the policy is that if you can't make it, you go to the service elevators and wait and someone should come by eventually and pick you up. Don't know if I would want to rely on that if there was a real fire. Oh well, at least I know that I can make it. Can't deny that you always have 9/11 in the back of your mind in a situation like that...

Which way do you look out? We are directly east of you at the edge of the Don River. I'll look up and see if I can see your window. Put a picture of your car up so can I point you out!
I'm at the north east corner but have an interior office; the outside is reserved for meeting rooms and the cubicle dwellers. I need a Canadian Poncho flag to put up, I'm sure that would get noticed!

Yup, GTO club spring swap meet. We have lots of Lemans owners in the club (including yours truly). You'd be welcome any time.
State of the hobby - somewhat sad. One of our members had a whole bunch of stuff in the back of his van that had slight imperfections: Pontiac valve covers, timing covers, exhaust manifolds, etc. Nobody wanted them so now they are on their way to a scrap yard. With the price of scrap these days, who can blame him?

Yes it is interesting how many folks only want perfection, in fact better than perfection. Most restored cars are 100% better than the way they left the factory so in my opinion not an accurate reflection of the car.
My everyday Cadillac which I like much more than my old Pontiac isn't perfect so why would I expect an 30 or 40 year old car to be? I have lots of valuable things I keep on a shelf but my cars aren't one of them. Too bad about those parts.
