My books say the heads are # 3911032 = 68-69 307-327- 1.72 intake 1,50 ext...   The # 3914678 is a 68-69 "302" or 68-69 327 210-295 hp or '68 350 , all 4bolt mains.. sound like a buy..  send us the code off the front.. Carl2

Better check the suffix code.........There were no 327s with 4 bolt mains.

It could be a truck engine.  Pull the valve cover and check the head casting#.  My (Canadian)truck 283 has a "L" following the casting#.  As stated previously the suffix on the front of the block will tell you were the engine's home was from the factory(closest to fan, pass side top of block in front of head).

It has the small valves in it so more than likely it was a 2 barrel/low hp application.  From the hip I would say you have a 210hp truck 327.

It still is a good deal regardless.  It would still be a 4" bore whatever it was(you could make it a 350 bagded has a 327).  The year would make it large journal has well????

Just bear in mind the block is scrap unless it's boreable.  Meaning if it is at
+.060" you've just purchased a boat anchor.

Depending what your goals are for the car, power, looks, etc. it may not be the motor for you... if you were considering a BBC but dont want the swap, you'd be better off building a bigger CI sbc, with vortec or aftermarket heads etc.etc. you will be spending $ on machine and parts for whatever motor you decide to build, so might as well go with want you want in the first place... a 454 complete core might cost you $5-600, a 350 4 bolt main core for about $250, and you'd have a better platform for building easy HP with the BBC... you can cut cost significantly if you can buy an already built motor that you can hear run... i bought a nice rebuilt 396, with $1000 of receipts from summit for $1500! i usually prefer to build my own, but this one looks to have been a good buy so far...

i counter offered 100 bucks ,he says come get it.

this is his story

327 Motor from a 1968 Beaumont
Pick it up and take it away .Heads included
$150
The block is 3914678
Heads are not from this motor  3911032.
The original heads had the bump on the end indicating high output.  I put those on the 350 that I put in my 68 Beaumont.
Motor is not complete, no intake or carb.  I had a 4 barrell on my 350 which I believe came off that motor, as did the original intake.
I hope that helps.  I was told the block and heads are worth $400.  I just want to move them for $150 or I will even accept a trade.  I'm into music and Harley-Davidson m/c's.

I built a 4 bolt 327 by using a 1969 4 bolt 350 block and a 1968 large journal 327 crankshaft rods and pistons. I would have to agree you would be better off building a 350 rather than a 327 unless you are planning on machining the block and stamping the block with the numbers to match the data plate from your car.
