Summerizing a 4.3L sterndrive Mercruiser, questions?

My sister has a 2004 Monterey Monterro 19 (foot) bowrider.
It has an injected 4.3L Mercruiser IO with a Alpha1 sterndrive.

It was winterized in the fall of 2005. It had the motor oil and drive oil changed along with having fuel stabilizer added. I'm assuming also it had whatever is done to flush out the the water and to have anti freeze added.

Her poor health and finances have kept the boat out of the water since then. Feeling better she'd like to see it in the water this year. Still tight on money, she'd like to avoid any cost in getting it in. She says I can use it anytime I want out on lake Ontario and in Hamilton harbour, I'd love to have it out.

What do I need to do to make it seaworthy? Can it just be put in the water with a charged battery and fired up? Does the motor need to be flushed out first, does winterizing this motor even involve adding anti freeze?
These things I have no knowlege of, I have my own 05' 3.0L Bayliner 175, but never winter/summerize it myself. so I'm pretty green here.

This Monterey is a truly stunning boat, with only 30 hours on the clock, so I'm pretty anxious to see it in the water, get in some cruising before it gets sold.

Any inboard/outboard sterndrive guys out there?

Cheers, Mark.

I will try to remember to ask my brother tomorrow. He buys, sells and repairs a fair number of boats.

you should be good to go, check all the fluids, check plugs for tightness (they probably fogged the cylinders), turn the motor over without ignition to get the oil pressure up, and for peace of mind buy a pair of muffs for the drive, hook em up the garden hose and run it for a few minutes at home before heading out on the water....
