Did you hear about the problem Toyota is having with the frames on their trucks? I believe it's 1995-2000 models. They are rotting out. Apparently in the U.S Toyota is buying back these trucks for 150% of their value!

If that picture is not doctored it speaks volumes. Toyota appraoched GM to help them build their NASCAR engine, its almost a small block I understand. Is that engine offered to the public? I 'm not sure it is so how did they get around that rule?

They are blaming the metal supplier for tis issue, but are buying back at 1.5 times the value. Yes it is true, I work for a toyota dealer and have seen the notice, 95-2000 tacoma's only. What engine are the toyota's using for race??

Oh Ya they do have drain holes, but in some places, high dirt or road salt uses the holes in frame get plugged and the frame rotts from the inside as the dirt holds the moisture and salt.

NASCAR rules stipulate push rod V8, 358 CID or less, I believe. I also thought that it had to be a regular production engine as offered in one of the manuafacturers cars or trucks to qualify. I don't think Toyota's production V8 is a push rod engine.

New Tundra is a double overhead cam engine, with variable valve timing, 5.7 litre. Has hydraulic lash adjuster in the top end. No pushrods.

nascar engines are all basically the same design. the new R07 chevy nascar engine resembles a f#rd engine, has the dist. in front, near the same port layout etc, no resemblence to the production small block engine.

I read that they are talking about spec-ing a single engine for all cars. Hmmm, why have different nameplates, it's all about the personalities anyway, very hard to find anything out about the cars.

Congratulations on the 300 mark! I'm going for 400 by Sunday... haha!! biggrin
