Parts Suppliers

Where does one get their car parts from?

Being in downtown Toronto I get mine from Khapco Automotive for general parts. Sometimes Cdn. Tire. Swap meets for previously enjoyed stuff.

Specialized stuff from National Parts? I know 73SC is a big fan of Ebay which I peruse dailey if not hourly. I have some that I deal with for Fjords but not GM stuff?

But what other Canadian or local Toronto places are there that deal in old car parts?

Basically no one on the planet has listings for a 1973 Canadian LeMans and no one reproduces any parts for it, so eBay and wrecking yards are pretty much it. I have bought parts listed for Chevelles as well. To their credit Canadian Tire does break out my car as orange engine and blue engine but they don't have much. Spark Auto supply in Toronto is a GM authorized distributor and I obtained OEM parts from there but nothing obscure, starter, alternator, gasket sets, points condensors, distributor cap, hand brake cables, brake pads. Also made a few dealer purchases for GM perfomance parts. I have also made purchases from on line contacts like our Canadian Poncho forum and detective work from eBay.

I once watched a pair of NOS parking lights go for $350, so I used the eBay system to contact the winning bidder, he sold me the three he had for $100 all in which was fine with me. Mine were cracked and they are an impossible to find one year only part.

Carl, I think you sold me some brackets to put an Impala floor shift in my 95 Caprice wagon a couple of years ago. Does that ring a bell?
Do you sell GM parts at good prices for forum members?  Inquiring minds need to know. :)

ebay for alot of parts...no chance finding discontinued parts in this area.
local... carguess and avenue motor works. avenue is an ac delco distributor.
you can search your part/numbers here...http://www.acdelco.com/parts/index.jsp
alot of brake and electrical parts still available through them.
try it again...

Yes, that would have been me. I am still sorry I didn't buy up all those brackets to convert those cars. I think I ordered about 15 of them. There was a bunch left at that time and I hesitated to invest a couple of hundred dollars in themhmmhmm One of my more boneheaded moves. I think GM crushed a whole whack of them, because one day the brackets were all gone, and nobody ever stepped forward selling a bunch of them.

And yes, I came back to this thread to tell guys not to hesitate in contacting me if they want to know if stuff is still available new from GM. Also, don't be shy to ask me for prices either. I still do some parts sales to Canadian guys on www.impalassforum.com when they don't have a dealer locally who will work with them.

If I recall correctly, there may be another GM parts manager on this forum. If so, I am not trying to cut into anyone's sales here, but just willing to fill in the void if someone is in need.

The best deal I have found on an LT1 water pump has been NAPA rebuilt if it doesn't have to be AC Delco. If it has to be Delco, let me know and I will check tomorrow. I am running 2 or the NAPA pumps, one on the Roadmaster and one on the 6 speed Impala. Both are about 18 months old and doing fine.

I will check but the ZQ8 snubbers may have been discontinued. I will try to remember to check tomorrow.

Do you happen to have the part number for them? No sweat if not, I can look it up.

Thanks, I'll check with NAPA tomorrow then.
I don't have the snubber numbers.
Is part # 22591877 emblem still good?

I haven't sold an emblem in a while. I made a note to check that tomorrow too.
