Hey from Toronto, just had dinner with a business associate in from Vancouver. Love your Canadian GTO. I think many people would be surprised to know that GTO's were built in Oshawa for only two model years, 1970 and 1973, so you have a rare gem there.

Great to see you here. You have a very nice car, but I bet you've heard that before!

Nice!  Let us know what it has in the way of options.  Is that the original colour?

Thanks for the kind words on my car.
Number produced for sale in Canada-24237 was 1,866
My car colour is palladium silver, int black, electric windows and all other goodies.Mine also has the rear electric window defogger. Most GTO,s came with a blower. It is a highly optioned 455 auto, but only a AM radio???I guess all we had back then was listening to the hockey games on CBC radio?

AM/FM and stereo radios cost an arm and a leg back then, way out of proportion to the price of the car.  I'm sure the original purchaser of the car (who I am guessing custom ordered the car since you say it is loaded) thought he would get a lot better bang for the buck putting his cash towards other options.  Have you gotten the documentation from Vintage Vehicle Services of GM Canada?  I would love to hear what other options it has. smile

Kewl!  The only thing he skimped on was G80, safe - t - track rear end, otherwise known as posi-traction in Chevyland.  If I recall, they were fairly cheap too, guess he just ran out of money and had to draw the line somewhere.

The rearend has been changed then. It's a 12 bolt posi with gearing in the 3.7-3.9 range.Great for laying two black stripes on the road, but it,s not meant for 110k on the Hwy

Nice GTO!
Your car would have come from the factory with the Chevy 12 bolt. There should be a two digit letter stamped in the housing near the housing. If you want me to check the code just let me know.

Block heater for a west coast car?Now if it didn't have wipers that would be a problem
