I finally got started on my interior restoration. I am replacing the carpet and seat upholstery. I am going with vinyl instead of cloth. Here is my front seat: I decided to start with the front seat bottom as it looked the most challenging. After taking the cover off, I discovered only the foam and the cover over the foam needed replacing. The burlap and felt was fine. Thanks to the help of my awesome wife, we got the cover installed last night. I'm very happey with the results: I'm sure the minor wrinkles will work themselves out once it's in the sun for a while. One down, 4 more to go! Todd
Tanks a rot! I did find NOS material from SMS but the budget wouldn't allow it at this point. It was going to cost about $2500 to do both seats by the time I had the material sewn and installed. With these covers I'm only in for about $650

In general, were not the upholstery and door panels the same on Canadian ponchos as their Chevy equivalents? The door panels on my Laurentian look identical to those on a Bel Air.

I think they are the same Dave. I had SMS send me a sample from a 69 Bel Air and it was the same as in my car. Door panels are the same too. BTW, Strato Chief was the same as Biscayne, Parisienne the same as Impala
This a little away from "seat resto".. BUT my mother has a 2002 Toyota Camry with 27,000Km on it. Yes 27,000km She HAD to get a Toyota! When she dies, and leaves it to me, I am going to convert to RWD, and put in a Canadian Pontiac small block.. The car will be a cross breed.. What do they call those tuner cars? Ricearonees?

No problem! they sold her the $1000.00 undercoating, with the free factory rust warranty as well, and the $ 2000.00 extended warranty!! Car has 27,000km in 6 years!! and charge her every six month to touch it up (the undercoating) I will put a frame under it anyway. lol
Yes, but sometimes I think this car prefers to be parked like it was for the last 30 years. When I walked into the garage I discovered the rad leaking all over the floor! Yet another thing to do before it hits the road...

The next time you take a picture, can you show me, how you finished it underneath where belts go through? My seat is nicely recovered, but there was not a spot left for belts, to go through bottom of seat.. ??
I'll take a photo next time I'm out in the garage. Basically, there is a "line" moulded in the seatcovers which is a guide to where you cut a slit. The seatbelts go up through that slit. The front seat is done. I'm happy with the results: It looks better than this!: I'll do the headrests once the seat is installed in the car. We got the rear seat back completed tonight. Tomorrow I hope to have the rear seat bottom completed. The carpet goes in this weekend..
Do all 69 Pontiacs wear this way? My 69 seat was the same way, a little foam, some duct tape and a seat cover. Well, at least it was a better way to sit on the seat. Didn't look anywhere near as nice as yours. Hope my 66 buckets turn out hist nice. Gary
