Does anyone have any tricks on removing the Ebake cable from the floor by the firewall?I don't want to damage it taking it out.Pliers and a screwdriver have only come to frustration.Trying to get all the metal barbs pushed in at the same time is a nightmare.
Not really. I have always managed with a screwdriver but it is never pretty as you say. Can you get someone on the other side to put some gentle tension on it so that as you get each tab started it won't pop back through when you move on to the next tab?

Try disconnecting the back end first then try pushing a few barbs and lean the cable so the barbs you've already pushed go below the surface and it can hold them there while you push more...sometimes rotating the cable at the same time helps too..

Open up a hose clamp. Put it back together around the barbs and tighten. When the barbs are compressed, pull the cable through. It worked perfect on my project car.

I do it the same way. It has worked for me every time.
The hose clamp trick works.........I find when you push in an older one, the tangs usually stay in.......when you want to reinstall them, just pry them out a bit.
