65 Beaumont

This one followed me home this week. It's something to drive while the 67 2+2 is undergoing surgery.

This car is a nice solid SD with a 283/ 2 barrel/ powerglide. I saw it in April at a S&S and thought it was a nice looking car.
When it appeared on Kijiji, I called and asked the guy if he was open to trading for my 80 El Camino. Well, as it turned out, he was and in return for the EL Camino, a truckload of parts and some $$$, I got the car.
It seems to be solid (little bit of trunk rot), painted bright white rather than creamy white. Dual exhaust and HEI have been added. Otherwise it's original.
The car runs well but it's not a Hot Rod. I will have to wait for the 2+2 for my Hot Rod thrills. However I can now join my Pontiac buddies and not be embarassed.

Nothing to be embarrassed about with that one! And no shame at all in a 283 glide car either. If it was mine I'd take out the HEI and make it look stone stock again. Not telling you what to do, that is just how I like things.

There can't be a whole pile of solid SD's on every street corner.

Are you planning to get the documentation, or did he give you some history with it? It's always fun finding out the background on a car.

I'm glad it went to a good home.. Chris is the bodyman working on my 65 SD four gear car, and the car you now have was the one I traded him for some of the work.. funny how things make they're rounds.

all the best.

what a difference a set of wheels makes.. looks great.  I prefer the style in the last picture.  (I believe them to be the torque thrust style.. but I'm not really sure.. :)  )

Those are the Torque Thrust D's.
I like them as well, but they don't have enough back spacing to be able to drive with them.
Also they belong to my 2+2 and I don't want the same wheels on both cars.

Well I like the Torque Thrust D's. They look good on it, but since you do not want the same wheels on both cars I would go with the Rally the buicks or (old chevy ) hard to see them in the small pic.

What a cool car.....

I love those early SD cars. The unique trim on them makes them so cool. I would think that one would be fun at an American Chevelle gathering!

In South Africa those rims are known as Rothstyles and perfectly suits the time period of your 65 Beaumont.  Very nice.  Not a nice to have but a must have!
