hello to all

Hello to all. Found this post and wow , love it ,not enough time to see everything. Let me start by saying i"m originally from thunder bay, ont. Looking for my first REAL car , stumbled across a fairly decent 67 beaumont with a straight six and powerglide. Promptly yanked motor tranny and rear end, 396 with dual 600 on tunnel ram ,turbo 400 and 456 12 bolt.Undercarriage sandblasted ,new exhaust ,brake line ,fuel line and wowwww.Then moved up from 396 to 454 (punched to 468)12.5 to 1 , Engle solid roller cam, and double wowwwww, oh yeah the predater carb worked better than any holley i ever owned. Anyways lost job at mill had to sell car. Last year tracked it down , guy lives in thunder bay and his son races it in terrace bay i believe he said. Asked to rebuy,no way ,asked for recent pics to se what he"s done, nothing. Not to long ago i found a 67 2 door with a 4 door parts car in melitta Mb, was origanally on ebay, guy from edmonton had them and sold to me ,sight unseen. Gonna need a lot of work but hey i need something to do. I see there are a lot of winnipeg guys on here, i"m 4 hours east from there. I"ve picked up the 2 door , want to go get the 4 door when i have some time and gas is cheaper, The 66 that was for sale by same ebay add was still in melitta when i was there and it seemed to be in decent shape , way better than my 67. Not sure if it"s still there. Alot of talk about 67 convertibles on this site. I noticed about 3 or 4 weeks ago in thunder bays chronicle journal a 67 beaumont convertible for sale, 4500.00 or best offer. Had i seen that prior to me buying the 2 door in manitoba , would have bought sight unseen, didn"t even torture myself by calling seller as it was unrealistic to think of buying, married with three kids ,just to hard. If anyone wants i can call my brother to look up the sellers number ,as he can go and find in archives at the chronicle journal. Anyways thats enough to start, hope to chat with fellow pontiac enthusiasts.

Lotta really good times in that 67. When i dig up my old photo album ,will scan and post pics of first car.

Welcome Ben. I'm not a Winnipeger, but close to it. Just about a half hour south of the south perimeter.

You should be able to find lots of Beaumont help on here.

I'm sending you a PM.

Mid Life Crisis,

Welcome to the site.   Been through your part of the country the last four summers (my way to Ottawa/Oshawa and then home).  Helped a friend buy a '65 Beaumont Deluxe in Ignace, Ont about an hour and a half west of you.  When in ThunderbayuUsually stay at the Best Western on the Northwest side of town up by the airport.   Easy to get on the highway in the morning and motor off to Winnipeg.

If your looking to find out more on your '67 Beaumont you can PM (personal mail) me with the VIN number and cowl tag and I'll decode and tell you what you have.

Been to Melita, MB myself a few years back to visit one of the members of my club.   Not too many people know about that town.

Look forward to hearing from you, again welcome to the site.
