Beaumont name?

Where did the Beaumont name come from? What was the inspiration? I think the Acadian was because of the Acadian heritage down East?

A quick Googling resulted in this info...probably more if you want to surf around..

-----------------

The names given to the Canadian Pontiacs were very nationalistic, and in most cases, the model names were French in origin..

Beaumont was named after a town in Quebec of the same name..

Acadian after the early French settlers in the Maritimes..

Canso after the waterway between Cape Breton and the Nova Scotia mainland..

Laurentian after the St. Lawrence River.

Parisienne after a girl or woman of Paris.

You mean the Beaumonts are not named to honour the dad from Leave it to Beaver, Hugh Beaumont?

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
