gas pedal

the gas pedal on the 59 is broken on the back attachment. it has the holes in the bottom that go on that plate on the floor but how does it attach at the top to the bar?

On my cars, it doesn't attach, the pedal just lays against the rod.  I realize they are not the same cars but is it possible?

I believe thats correct, my 60 is the same, actually I think it has a ridge on the backside that it supposed to ride in, mine keeps popping off the pins on the floor(rusty) but you can order a new plate.

i thought it just layed there but i also thought that was just too simple. Then i will cut the carpet for the pins then and put it back on. I dident want to cut the carpet until i was sure i could use the orig. pedal and have to buy some sort of aftermarket one. thanks guys.
