Step #1 Download this program. http://www.irfanview.com/ It is the best file viewing program on the planet. I'm a professional photographer and it is my choice for viewing files. The program is small, quick and very versatile.
Step #2 Open a Bitmap photo in IrfanView.
Step #3 Go to File. Click on Save As and choose Save as type JPG - JPG/JPEG Format.
Step #4 Pick a location where you want to save the file then hit Save.
Options You can also do a batch conversion and convert a bunch all at once.
Just open the image. Click on the icon along the bottom, second from the right (little picture). It closes image and re-opens for editing (a paint program). When it opens, click on file, save as. In the popup window that appears, select the file type you'd like (jpeg). give it a name and destination, then save it.
