Pics of my 1977 Grand Prix SJ

I'll start off by saying that it was the condition of the car, not the colour, that sold me.  It is Madarin Orange Metallic with saddle (some say buckskin) interior.  The paint looks very orange in the sunlight, at dusk it's burnt orange and at night almost terracotta brown.  A few paint touchs up but mostly original paint. 156,000 miles on the Pontiac 400 4bbl, still starts first crank and doesn't burn any oil. Extremely well cared for by it's previous owner and came with it's documented sale history and service receipts.  A fun cruiser.  Any other GP owners here?

Not a Grand Prix owner but a closely related A body. I love the colour combo on your car, it is so much that era, I've got saddle interior too. Your GP looks like it is in fantastic original condition. Welcome on the board.

Great looking GP. Remember when they were everywhere? They are great cars.

I came dangerously close to buying a 77 GP in those colors when I was about 20. It had everyhing known to man. If I recall correctly, it even had a power sliding roof in it. I still like those GP's from 69 to 77.  I like the new smaller ones after that too, but there is something about those big long nosed boats...

Welcome!  A neighbour of mine always had GPs.  A 69 SJ, red with a black top and then a 77, triple black, loaded with t-bar roof, everything.  He kept that black one for almost 20 years and got more for it when he sold it than what he paid for it brand new!  They are the thinking man's "luxury" GTO.  73SC, 65Camino and I saw a beautiful 70 at one of our local cruises Sat. night.  Light gold with matching interior and vinyl top.  It was so 70's !!!

69Laurentian,
Yep, I remember when, in the mid to later 70's Monte's and GP's were everywhere you looked.  I had a 77 Monte, 305, bench seat car from 1980 to 1984.  They sure rusted out early in their lives though!  Hard to find in good condition these days. I've seen some nice 76 Anniversary GP's and a few 77's on ebay over the last 5 years in good original shape, but they were the "best of the best" if you will, with full load of options and from southern US, 15 - 20k.  Couldn't afford it.  I like the 76's for the waterfall grill and last year for 455, the 77 because it's last year of the body style.  Some of the two tone paint combo's were very appealing, like the attached pic (not my car, unfortunately)cry

Love those 69/70 SJ's....428, full luxury load, great styling. Really pricey now & nice ones don't turn up very often.  One in decent shape is beyond my means.hmm
