SD registry ?

Has anyone come up with a beaumont SD registry? IT would be great to see how many of these cars are still around.Has anyone got the production #s of how many 67-69 SD BB were made?

I believe GM Canada Vintage Services has the production numbers for those years. Perhaps people who have had their cars documented can share some of that info.

If I remember correctly, there were 451 SD hardtops and 66 SD convertibles built it 67. In 68 there were 702 SD hardtops and 66 SD convertibles. I'm not sure about the 69 numbers but I do know that there were no 69 SD convertibles. I don't think there was a breakdown for how many 67 SDs were small blocks and how many were big blocks. All SDs were big blocks in 68 and 69.

Also, the thread that discusses the 736 cars with SD option (sports option) will also cast some doubt on proper production figures for the 67's.

Were all the early 67 SD cars SB and the later ones came standard with BB? or could you order them either way?

There is an older thread here discussing that, but I'm not sure it was ever really sorted out. I will see if I can find that discussion.

I had three 67 SD 738 V.I.N. cars-deepwater blue, bolero red, white along with an ash gold 68 SD, theres a blue 67 SD rag here, Bill Brown sold his yellow 67 SD rag to Helmut in Alberta, Werner has one also, not to mention Bill's 67 and two 68 SD rags, I know of an original owner 67 SD hardtop and the blue one on my avator, theres also a blue 66 SD rag small block here. I have documentation for a limelight green 69 SD L34 one of 43 built, theres the maroon 67 hardtop bench seat up #6 and PK had a nice green 67 SD in the early 1990's, theres a white 67 SD in Chicago, then Shawn Heffernans 736 V.I.N. sd rag in California

66 3300 + or - hardtops 565 rags-this included 6 cyl, small block and big block
67 451 hardtops 68 rags these would be 738 V.I.N.'s
68 702 hardtops (22 exported) 680 in Canada, 66 rags
69 43 hardtops with L34 no rags

Now that we know the info on total SDs built all we need to know is how many are left.Just curious as to how many SD owners are willing to post their full vin# on here so every one can have some data on these cars.I don`t think I have seen a full vin given out on here.Just a poll to see everybodys thoughts on it.Post your WHY NOTS or other.

i have mine (67 sports option -silver, black top, black int 283/pg), also owned a gold/gold 67 sd, 283/pg that was parted out. On the road in MB, i know of one other 67 sports option (original owner, blue, black top, blue int, 283/pg), a black/black 738 SD (396/3sp), Carls friends butternut yellow 738 SD, there are only 3 others with SD trim that I have seen locally this summer, not sure if they are verified. And one blue/blue SD convertible that was for sale a few years back, not sure where it went... heard of an SD 327/4spd car, a long time ago, but i think that one is long gone...

Thats actually all i've seen for 67's around here...

I was too young to know any better, but apparently my cousin had a black/black 69 sd post, it was a show car in the mid 70s, button tufted, mural on the trunk etc... the shell was for sale in wpg (i assume it was the same car) about 10 years ago for $3500... i do have someone who would have known the car and was his age, so one day if i see him i'll try to confirm and see if he has any pics from old shows...

I went and looked at the car a couple years ago.It needed lots.I documented it and it is an original 69 sd post car( one of 43,350 h.p. /396)-still had the black button tuft interior.I actually gave the guy who owned it at the time a 69 malibu 2 door for a parts car so he could restore the car.He got into the car for about 10 grand and got worried-so he offered to me for 11 grand-it ran and drove-non matching 396 4 speed motor-a muncie trans and 488 12 bolt posi rear end-it needed everything-the floors were put in with rivits, trunk was shot, needed quarters and doors, fenders etc..Like I said it needed everything.I ended up buying a 69 sd car from New Brunswick a year or so later, but it is a hardtop car not a post and needs everything as well

must be the same car... when it was for sale a while back it was in St. Andrews...is that where this guy was too? at that time there was no drivetrain... i called about it, but never went to go look at it... interesting that the car was that rotted considering it hadnt been on the street in a long time! Do you remember it on the street? Do you still have your 69sd car, are you working on it?

What is the original color of the 68 sd rag you have? Just found 3 big block sd cars within 10 miles of each other. 1st is a 67 396 sd stripe car-one of 117 that came with the stripe on it.,2nd is a 68 sd 4 speed car,and 3rd is an all original 69 sd 396 car 4 speed-been siting in a shed  since 1973.I am going to try and get some pics of them all.
