Sorry for hijacking this thread to talk about swap meets
I know what you mean Matt. Barrie has become a big yard sale for people offshore tools, clothes and Gypsy jewelry. It's no longer Canada's largest automotive swap meet. It's a weekend yard sale.

Once again, the car is awesome, if I had won the 50/50 at Barrie on Sat., I'd be 1/2 way to owning it!wink

I think you guys may be being a little bit hard on Barrie.  Granted, it's not quite as good as it used to be, but then again, what swap meet is?  Every year, more and more people are discovering the internet, even the old guys who said they would never touch a computer.  That being said, I still saw a lot of good stuff there.  I mentioned in my other thread there were quite a few guys who had decent Beaumont stuff.  Also, everyone who is serious about getting "deals" knows you have to be there on Friday, all the good stuff is gone by Sat.  I sold all of my stuff by lunch time on Friday and made most of my purchases by the end of the day.  It is also good for getting rid of large stuff that most people can't be bothered to ship, like wheels, fenders, etc.  On Sat I picked up some odds and sods but it was mostly a day for hanging out at the spot, drinking, eating and getting caught up with old friends as they stopped by for a rest or to park their purchases until they left.  As to Waterdown, I had a couple of good finds last year but this year if I go I'm not going to worry about the swap meet and go on Sunday, when the car show is supposed to be much bigger this year.

One beautifu car. Don't shoot me for this, but back in the 70's I would have taken a Nova over an Acadian or Ventura any day. I remember that my twin friends were given a new 76 ventura 2dr for turning 16 and not smoking, my thoughy was, "I would have asked for a Nova".  But now, having "grown up" I'd not say that anymore!
again, a gorgeous car!

That was a while ago. Now my wife and I plan to give our kids each a classic car when they turn 21 if they stay away from alcohol and drugs!!!

Guys, I've been so busy the last couple of days I haven't had a chance to post that I met the current owner, and according to him, also the last person who will ever own this car, this past Saturday night.  Super nice guy, says the car will never leave Canada now that he has it, in fact, he plans to be buried in it!biggrin  Pics and story to follow!

These are the pics I took last Sat. night.  Sorry for the quality, just had my Blackberry camera.

Owner's name is Glen and he resides in Mississauga.  Gave him a CP card and encouraged him to check us out.   He told me he had been looking for a nice Nova SS for a couple of years when a friend of his told him this was listed on the Scotti site.  The car was also advertised in Hemmings at the time.  They headed up to Montreal to check the car out and literally made the deal as someone was on the phone from the states trying to buy the car, so by the skin of it's teeth, the car just managed to stay in Canada.  In fact, even after the sale was completed, the prospective purchaser still wanted to come up and see the car.  Not wanting to take any chances and temp fate, Glen said no way, had the car covered up and moved out of the showroom so no one would get any ideas!

He has only  had the car a couple of weeks and can't get over the quality and originality - all original floors, trunk, etc.  It truly is stunning when you see it in person.  As I said earlier, Glen says he plans to be buried in this car so no worries about it ever leaving the Great White North now.biggrin

I think he will be coming out to the Queensway Cruise for the remainder of the season so any of  you in the area, come check it out!
