correction its 75 sold in canada not 79,hard to believe that someone would order a conv with a 6 cyl,car is very rare but not to desirable, original drive train is long gone in this one its new heart will be a 396 with 4 speed
One thing for sure... not many '63 Beaumont SD convertibles left at all. (Interestingly, the original owners of my '66 SD convertible, purchased it to replace their '63 SD convertible. Equally as interesting was that their surname was "Tempest".) Great picture of a beautiful car. (What booklets do you have with it?)

Just curious if anybody has production numbers for the 1968 Beaumont 2 door post cars ? Particularly the 73127 models. I know it's only a 6 banger, but I'm curious none the less... Did anybody have any GM Canada documentation that spells it out or are they all grouped together. Thx guys Bob
Hi...I'm new here and realize this is an old thread...I have a 1966 Beaumont Convertible model 73267, the vehicle
information package came from Oshawa last week says the number produced for sale in Canada was 245
My 73267 is just a basic v8 283 2 speed Powerglide .
I am puzzled somewhat about the 9 number serial stamped on the engine front pad..(all #'s no letters)....the number listed on vintage papers for the engine that was supposed to come in the car does not seem to correlate with either my vin tag or my body tag.
The # on the engine in the car does not match the # that it was supposed to have came with, according to vintage document...adding to my confusion the first 3 digits of the body # on body tag, matches first 3 digits on the motor presently in the car...is this coincidental? I am the third owner on this car... the first 2 owners are related and claim the motor was never changed.
Everything on the body tag matches this paperwork except the production date...its close though. .its says 1-1-26 the paperwork says Jan 31st 1966 and shipping date Feb 1st 1966....I guess my question is...if the production date could be an error, is it possible the engine # is also in error? and how come the engine in the car and the paperwork engine # both have no letters and both are 9 number only serials...all the decoders I have been finding all say the # needs letters in it to decode it.
Again I know its an old thread just hoping someone here may and have already been right where i am now be able to shed a little light for me...thanks.
If this car has no historic significance over this # thing I do have a 1966 396 and 4 speed can stuff in it this spring :o)
The nine numbered serial should relate to your vin tag not the body tag. The last 6 numbers should be the last 6 numbers of your vin tag. Do they match? The date and letter sufex codes would be on the same pad but separate from the vin numbers.
Wow pretty impressive information.so it seems that my first 1965 SD with a six cylinder was even rarer then my current 65 wow who would have thought. How many 6 bangers got replaced with 8 cylinders quickly if we only knew. I know I had a lot of fun and learned a lot from my old inline.
6cylinders are def rarer but who wants to drive a 6 cylinder glide car. My 66 SD rag came with a 283 glide and is rare but you have to enjoy driving it so a date correct high horse 327 and muncie 4 speed will be installed.
Hi All, I am brand new to the site, but have loved Acadians and Beaumonts since I was a kid. I just picked up a 68 Beaumont Convertible project and have been researching the production figures on your site, which is well layed out by the way. I also sent away to GM for the vehicle info. The first interesting thing I found is that your production figures for all 68 beaumonts shows 14420, but my car which has a build date of June 25, 1968 has a vin number of 14784, could it be that there are no recorded vehicles prior to now above 14420? that leaves 363 vehicles unacounted for plus probably a few built after june 25. Also my info from GM Vintage shows 47 convertibles built with L73 250 HP 327 (models 13667 and 73667). So I wonder how many of the 47 were actually Chevelles not Beaumonts.
Huggerorange67, I was baffled by the numbers you posted. First I thought it was from a Buick but nothing matched. Then I thought it was from a 1964-vintage GM. Still drawing a blank.
Anyway, Old car nut, you highlighted the fact that a few L73 327-powered cars did come off the production line in Oshawa, as I figured.

My 66 is a 73517 (one of 899 built), A51 optioned car, which makes it a Sport Deluxe and it is badged accordingly. A V8 might be more desirable but the possibly more rare 6 cyl 735, A51 optioned car is a Sport Deluxe isn't it?
