"The Turd" says hello !!!!

Hi Everyone

Posted a question on another forum about Canadian Pontiacs and its led me here.  Great website and forums !!!!   Good to see there's a lot of Canadian Poncho out there.

The "Turd" (my daughters nickname for my car) is a 1951 20-11 2 Dr Sedan with a 239 flat six and 3 spd manual transmission.  Picked it late last fall and spent most of the winter redoing the brakes and fuel lines, and fixing all the leaks - even the battery was leaking.  Body was extremely solid - only one hole in the rear inner fender.  Had it certified in the spring and its been getting groceries ever since.

Trying to keep it as original as possible except for a more modern driveline for better cruising. Plans for this winter include swapping the 3 spd for a 5 spd and converting to open drive shaft, and possibly converting it to 12 volts (not total sold on that idea yet though).

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and swap stories.

Car looks great. What I did with a 54 Chev I had was I left the 6v but converted to a one wire 6volt alternator. Worked great. I wasn't planning on adding accessories or an aftermarket radio so this fit the bill. It also eliminated the regulator. I got mine at Carquest (special order)
