Todd likes the 6cyl sound..

Todd;   I was talking to the gentleman, who sold me the yellow "Post Car" from Oregon.. I called him, to ask about strange marks underneath hood, and to ask why Auburn Posi was not working... He told me the previous owner in 2002, has a Supercharged 292 six in it!! and "mark" was for clearance on KN filter..Fellow had over 10 g in motor, and was running 4 speed auto, and had put in new 3.73 Richmond gears.  I said, I hadn't noticed, until I took grandson, for a ride Sunday, that it was only leaving 1 tire mark... I had looked and seen on the net, that a 5.0 Mustang, could destroy a Auburn cone type posi, in 10 passes at drags..  He looked at his notes (he has 16 cars), and said, YOU know, there is no posi it!   He said thats MY mistake ( his ) and I will make it right..  He sent $1000.00 by Pay Pal today..biggrin Carl too

Wow! That's one in a million...

Can you post an addition to the feedback you left him, or is it not an ebay deal?

A friend sold an Edsel to Forbes Chevrolet out in Dartmouth via e-bay-when Forbes complained the car had more repairs done than he expected for the $5000 he paid-my friend sent him $600 back.

Another friend bought a 62 BEL Air on e-bay-when it got shipped he started it to see blue smoke-the car needed new guides and seals-the seller sent him $700

I sold $40 corvette bubble taillights, when the guy got them he found they had three mounting holes instead of two for his 1980 model-I told him to send them back for a return-he didn't want to pay shipping so I sent him $20

28 years ago I sold a 12 bolt to a guy who hid the purchase from his wife and told me not to tell her he had bought it. (I don't lie for ANYONE). The diff looked beautiful inside. He calls me a week later, says it has a bent axle. I tell him to bring it back and I will refund his money. A few days later he calls again and tells me there is sand in the center section and wants some money back. I tell him to bring it back for a refund, but he just keeps demanding some money off and he will keep it. Finally he gets mad and slams the phone down, never calls me again. He doesn't want to bring it back, just wants a partial refund.

Now, back to my opening line on this paragraph. Can anyone guess what actually was happening???

I also had an ebay deal where I thought that power vent windows from a certain vehicle fit a different one. Sold them as such, he emails and says they don't fit. I said mail them back and I will refund your money plus return postage. He kept telling me I had made an honest mistake and he would pay the return shipping (which was substantial, I think about 30 some dollars) I had to twist his arm to get him to let me refund his purchase in full plus pay him to mail them back.

I was pretty impressed. I didn't think there is a whole lot of people out there like that.

About 10 years ago I sold a nice body BC truck '69 Ford One Ton to a guy I knew as he wanted the rebuilt 300 six in it for a customer's truck..
Since he was going through the wife split thing and short on dough I told him he could pay me the $500 later when he was in better times..
He did the engine job and sold the doors, duals, w'shld and more parts off the truck also turned the box off the back into a storage shed..
A couple years went by 'til I saw him again and when I asked for the dough he told me the engine had seized after 18 months and he had to come good for it and paid $800 for another so now I wasn't getting paid also owed him $300?.

confused

There are a lot of decent people on here Carl. For my own story, This past year we sold two items on eBay they never arrived, one to Scotland and one to Utica NY. We had similar items remaining so I just shipped them again. Being fair and nice to people sometimes shocks them but that's how I was brought up. It's a good way to make friends. We also regularly send rebates for eBay purchases if the actual shipping is less than they sent on paypal.

Its refreshing to see honest people, doing the right thing.. This is my 3rd vehicle off e-bay, and the experiences has been excellent.. I can't give a different feedback, but I have another friend.. Its like the guy, I bought the Pontiac SC from in Moncton.. His friendship, is worth more, that the price of the car..When I go to Moncton, this fall, Andy's house is a "must go" part of the trip...Carl2
