So now the so called economic experts are saying the price of oil will drop to $50 barrel by Christmas leading to gas prices around 40 cents a litre. I wish they'd make up their minds. Three months ago it was forcasted to hit $2.25.

If you believe that I've got some swampland for sale in Florida.....
Seriously though, the only reason oil could go that low is if there was no demand. No demand = serious world wide recession, or even depression. I don't think any of us want that. If everyone is laid off and unemployed, the price of gas will become irrelevant as no one will be driving any way.
Todd, did you see the news yesterday that Toyota had it's worst sales drop ever in the US? From yesterday's Automotive News:
"With a 32.3 percent decline in sales, Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. in September turned in one of the worst performances in its 50-year history in the United States. Toyota sold 81,282 vehicles last month, down from 125,007 in September 2007."

Here's something I don't understand. We are on the equal billing plan at Union Gas. Our monthly payment was $114. In Sept we got a bill with a $6.44 credit. So, logically you'd think we would get a lower monthly bill this time around as we start into the next 12 months of equal billing. Nope- we got a $195 bill today!
Is this based on the big forcasted 30% increase of Natural Gas? Lately I feel I should change my name to Ben Dover!
I have been watching the price of gas ever since I had my GTO, back in 1988, it was around 46 cents a liter in Trenton Ont. and then in 1996, it was still 46 cents a liter in Comox BC. Except for the Golf war in 90, it went up to about 68 cents and everybody was screaming bloody murder, remember that ? I wish they would keep the price steady for many years like back then !

I know several other people who are on the equal billing plan and they are always wondering if they are being overcharged based on anticipated/estimated future use. Myself, I just bite the bullet and pay for actual usuage each month. Hurts in the winter but it's like a holiday in the summer. Just have to budget accordingly.

One of my past jobs was Director of Revenue for a big municipality so I have water and electricity experience. We liked equal billings because it really helped on the accounts receivable and collection end. It really helped with cash flow. We only adjusted once per year but always overestimated the actual monthly charge provided to customers.
