That is odd, my Perfomer 600 cfm bolted on out of the box and I never touched a screw for two years.

Having said that I always liked a Quadra-jet better, just tuning them is beyond my patience.

I'm with 73SC. The Edelbrock on my 350 works great. My mileage is way up over the Holley.

Well X, I don't have personal experience, but our service manager has a 340 Dart, and his Edelbrock was a piece of crap out of the box. It drips in every time he parks it, so it's flooded later when he wants to start it. Their tech line told him that is "normal"...... BS

I had the same experience with Edelbrock. I'll stick with a Holley any day. I know it will need tuned out of the box but I don't have to phone a useless tech line (sorry, bad experience with Edelbrock tech).
The Q-Jet works great too and will give great mileage. You just need to know how to set them up.

I too had problems with my E-brock 600 on the Pontiac 350.  Never did run right and could not get rid of the off-the-line bog.  Q-jet, #7041268, on the 455 HO is bang on, so far.

Vic says they are designed for a small block Chevy 350. Mine is on a ZZ4 Bowtie intake which is the one Vic copied for his Perfomer intake. I was so pleased with my carb I wrote Vic a letter.
