I know there are two first gear ratios for the powerglide trans and would like to know if there is an exterior markings or any way to id the difference by the exterior of the trans.  Thanks Al

Apparently, you can remove the small input shaft, and measure it.. If it is a 1.86 gear rato, it measures 12 and 5/8 inches   If it is a 1.76 gear ratio, it measures 12 and 7/8 inches...confused
