hi guy's i just joined  can someone help decode my 1958 pontiac stratrochief 2dr sedan for me. i can't seem to find any info on this car. The vin# is 8754100479W101921, Thanks    Rick

Let's see if I can help with some of it:

Body Style: 7541 = Strato Chief 2 door seden 6 passenger 6 cylinder
Weight - 3400 lbs
Base Price: $2790

Your Vin looks too long. It should look something like this: 8754100001 so I would suspect your VIN should be 8754100479 with your car being the 478th off the line.

Hope this helps. Cool car to restore. I'd put a 348 and a tri power in her!

thanks guy's that helps me alot. regarding the 348 that would be a great idea my brother had one in his 58 chev about twenty years ago[kicking his ass now that he sold it]. it has a fresh 327 from a 1968 camaro . it'll do for now.

Good move, a lot less expensive (hee hee) to build a sbc than a 348. I'll ask again, where do you find these old W blocks ?  confused
