Dying interior panels?

I'm getting ready to re-dye some of my interior panels and dash.

What is the best stuff to use, and how is it done properly?

 Can custom colours be mixed?

 Cheers, Mark.

Hey Mark.. from what I was told, SEM paint is the stuff to use. I had my interior done professionaly by a company here in Calgary and that's what they used. My color happend to be a "ready mixed" color.. but custom colors can be made as well. The only advantage to a stock color is matching is easy.. I used just under 2 quarts to do my front buckets, rear seat, door panels, package tray, and interior window trim (plastic). it was more than enough paint, and i have whats left in a can at home.

hope this helps.
The company that supplied the paint is called CMAX 403 287 2550
The company that did the dying is CR Techniques 403 279 9116 (James)
If you need information.. I'm sure they can help you out

all the best

Thanks Kelly,

Thats a good Start.

I take it that the paint itself is in a can and can be shot with my HVLP gun?

I'd heard somewhere that a primer is also required?

Mark

I used a clear adhesion promoter on the pieces I had to do. I used pre-mixed SEM as well. A lot of paint companies will mix the colour in base coat and add a flex additive. I haven't had to do that as of yet.

I guess the biggest problem with shooting an interior is cleaning it first.. the guy told me it's like doing bodywork.. all the prep is what pays off for the final project. As for the high volume low pressure gun.. I'm not sure, but I would assume yes.
And yes it came in can for sure.
